Bro in Bowtie: Zain Bhai

#StealHisStyle

Welcome to my new male blogger series: #StealHisStyle, which features interviews with some of my favorite fashion male bloggers or digital influencers who effortlessly add their sauce to the fashion industry by redefining the meaning of style.

These influencers are game changers and it’s time to give them the spotlight. Iconic and eclectic style is derived from numerous sources, let’s get inspired by their journeys!  #StealHisStyle will show the evolution and diversity of male fashion with latest styles by trendsetting bloggers.

This “bro in bowtie” gentleman knows the difference between casual and elegance by taking the highway to luxury whenever possible. But how does one make high fashion wearable on the daily? Zain Bhai, creator of Bros In Bowties, is the epitome of high-street and luxury fashion wrapped into one stylish human being.

He understands luxury styling is best done with a minimalist mindset. Not too much to take away from the statement piece is the perfect formula for a high-end OOTD look.

From high-end streetstyle sneakers such as Gucci, Fendi, and Adidas paired with a luxury statement tee from Balmain or Valentino to colorful 3-piece suits diverting from the typical minimalist mindset of mainly using neutral colors: black, white, gray or nude, Zain is evolving his style with functionality and modern-sleek threads.

Enrolled in the University of Houston, he takes time on his blog to give men seasonal style guides, the latest trendy accessories and even how to care from the inside by touching basis on topics such as anxiety.

Natonya: Hometown?

Zain Bhai: Houston, Texas

Natonya: Why did you start fashion blogging?

Zain Bhai: I have always had a passion for fashion, but I didn’t know how to turn it into a career. It scared me to think about creating a life solely based around fashion. So I started a blog, it was the perfect way for me to get my toes wet. Now that I’ve done it, it’s definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Natonya: Describe your go-to look.

Zain Bhai: A white t-shirt, black jeans, and some sort of a jacket, whether it be denim, leather, etc.

Natonya: What is your definition of fashion?

Zain Bhai: A way to express yourself and step outside your comfort zone in a very non-permanent way. The great thing about fashion is that it can grow and change along with you!

Natonya: Five words to describe your style.

Zain Bhai: Classic, youthful, simple, minimalistic, colorful

Natonya: Who or where do you get fashion inspo?

Zain Bhai: One of my favorite male bloggers is Ali Gordon, his style is something I really admire.

Natonya: Favorite designers/stores/brands.

Zain Bhai: Zara is major favorite for apparel. Designer wise, I love Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Ferragamo!

Natonya: Can’t walk out the door without wearing?

Zain Bhai: My bracelets! I have a grey Hermès bracelet, and a black Tiffany and co bracelet that I have on all the time.

Natonya: What do you want people to learn from your blog/Instagram?

Zain Bhai: I want them to discover their sense of style and I want them to learn that taking risks in fashion doesn’t have to be scary. It’s okay to not always wear a black suit, try something else, you might surprise yourself.

Natonya: What are your goals with fashion blogging or digital influencing?

Zain Bhai: My ultimate dream would be to do this full time, to make a name for myself in the blogging community. I want people to learn from my blog and just have a fun relatable friend to come too.

Natonya: Any bloggers who inspire your style or blog content?

Zain Bhai: @aligordon89 on Instagram

I love Instagram, I love the fact you can be so interactive now with all the Story features. I think the editing software on IG is awesome. I love how everyone can find someone they like and follow for support!

Natonya: Views about social media?

Zain Bhai: I think social media is great, it’s gives everyone a way to find people they can relate too. There are downsides though, I think social media relies heavily on luck. Some people who work a lot harder, never get as much recognition and it really makes the whole blogging thing discouraging.

Natonya: What magazines do you read or follow online?

Zain Bhai: I mainly check out GQ because they capture all types of fashion. I love to look at GQ magazines not based in America as well!

Natonya: Who have you collaborated with? If none, which brands or companies do you want to work with?

Zain Bhai: I’ve collaborated with Jord Watches, Atlantis Wristwatches, Classy Men Collection, and a few others. I would love to be able to collaborate with larger brands like Daniel Wellington, BALLR, or luxury fashion houses (that’s the goal).

Natonya: What advice do you give someone trying to discover his or her style?

Zain Bhai: Try a little bit of everything because fashion is not permanent, if you don’t like something you can always change it!

Natonya: What changes would you like to see in the fashion industry?

Zain Bhai: I would love to see men receive more recognition. Women have put blogging on the map and they’re all doing an amazing job, but I think brands should also try to reach out to male bloggers more.

I love seeing male bloggers because blogging is more of a “stereotypical” female thing to do, and like Zain said, men should receive more recognition, I 100% agree with that, more opportunities, more brands wanting to work with them etc! Great post and these pictures are pretty good too! x

All credit given to Zain for sharing his images for the interview 🙂 You are so right, blogging is stereo-typically female but it’s nice to see us all come together with our different perspectives from female and male to inspire one another. Appreciate ya Shar ❤

I love that Zain mixes style with practicality and it isn’t too OTT. I loved his description of fashion as a way of expression.

Thanks for sharing! Going to pass this blog onto my boyfriend who definitely needs style inspiration!
