SO FRESH SO CLEAN
It’s the little things that count the most right? Well small efforts make the biggest difference in how you feel, so why not apply this to your shower routine? If you don’t have time to lounge in the tub for a luxurious bath, up your shower game by treating it like a mini spa day.
Music is a great way to make your shower energizing and relaxing but what about those days when you only want to hear the water running but still seek the spa mood? With simple and affordable tips, you can turn your shower into the same spa-like experience the bath tub brings.
Invest in a good quality body wash and/or scrub. Personally, I like shower products with a creamy consistency and feminine scent. Something about a strongly scented product makes me feel so fresh and clean. While cleansing, use washes that contain an oil for the massage effect.
You should exfoliate your body to remove the dead skin no more than 3x/wk. Sensitive skin beauties do this 1-2x/wk to avoid dryness and irritation. Coffee scrubs are great for tightening the skin, softening cellulite, improved circulation and leaves your skin glowing. Be sure to use an organic natural scrub to reap the most benefits.
Going with the massage effect, dry brushing is an effective way to soothe and smooth your skin by removing the dead cells. This method stimulates blood circulation, improves lymphatic drainage, which is detoxification of releasing fluids and toxins from the body, plus dry brushing decreases the appearance of cellulite.
Considered as another form of exfoliating, dry brush before you enter the shower on dry skin in a circular motion. Be gentle and apply light pressure. As with anything in life, moderation is best so dry brush about 2-3x/week.
We all know the benefits of aromatherapy and how nostalgic but soothing scent is for the brain. Hanging a eucalyptus bundle in your shower will provoke positive energy by uplifting your mood. The steam produced from the heat releases the plant’s essential oil and fills the shower with a healthy aroma to breathe in.
Eucalyptus is known to relieve stress, bring nourishment and healing to the skin while opening your nostrils for easier breathing. Part of the whole spa relaxation state of mind, this plant is perfect for creating a calm mood in your shower.
As another option, take a wet wash cloth with a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil and leave it in the shower with you, the steam will produce the same effect.
A mood or ambiance is sometimes depicted by a room’s lighting. Filter the vibe of your bathroom with a daylight bulb for the outdoor feeling. Have a favorite scent? Try scented candles, which is a win-win item because you are greeted with a lavish smell and the classic dim of a spa room. Not a fan of flames? No problem, use flameless tealights. The battery operated light system brings you safety and the same vibe of using a regular candle. Flame-free tealights are excellent for childrens’ rooms, dorms and offices too.
