No more snoozing, instead of hitting the famous button on your alarm clock, hop out of bed and get your day started. Don’t just drag your feet to the floor. O NO! You must do this with a smile on your face. Unravel from your duvet with an enthusiasm to begin your activities. Open the curtains, let the sunshine hit your sheets and bounce on your face with your early regimen.

Morning routines kick start the day, so why not begin it with a good one? Yeah we know we should eat a healthy breakfast, wake up early and brush our teeth but what about something a bit more exhilarating? Let’s break that habit of beginning the day with a to-do list and jump start our mornings on a high note that produces tons of energy.

Maybe it’s too early to turn up Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Marshmallow, Zayn and Kygo in the morning. If you’re not feeling music before you had your first cup of coffee, podcasts are a lovely alternative.

Podcasts are a new craze, kinda like radio without the music or commercial interruptions. Episodes will last from seven minutes to an hour with diverse content for every part of your life to help you become a better person.

Fill your mind your mind with good conversations from motivational speakers like Tony Robbins or Rachel Hollis. Need to recharge your business mindset? Listening to Julie Solomon’s Influencer/Blogger tips or Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran’s business expertise will jump start your day.

From a gospel perspective, Joseph Prince and Joyce Meyers help you navigate your walk with Christ. Hey, humor does more good than harm, try not to spew out your coffee while listening to Ellen On the Go.

Hit the Quan in Your Underwear

Keke do you love me are you riding? How many millennials did you see hoping out of cars to catch that beat and perfect shot to Drake’s tune? Whichever dance trend you choose, might it be the Shamoney, the Nae-Nae or my favorite The Quan, make sure you dance like no one is watching.

Not only does it free your mind and pump blood through your veins, dancing is so good for the spirit. Who cares if you’re off beat, embrace your body and let the energy feed your soul.  Brownie points for prancing around your room with a hair brush like your Queen Bey!

Walk on Sunshine

Don’t necessarily need to bust out a sweat for this one but morning walks are uplifting. I know some people like to work out early because it recharges their physical energy by releasing the feel-good component known as endorphins. Some form of exercise is healthy and beneficial in all areas of your life but what if you don’t have time to lift weights or run the treadmill? Not a big deal, just do something small and simple.

Set your alarm a bit earlier and make time to go outside. You don’t have to grab your running shoes but a 10-minute walk in your backyard or neighborhood will do the body good. Walking perks up your energy gets the muscles moving and removes stiffness. You begin to feel good and we all know when you feel good, you look good.

Even if you don’t have time to walk around your apartment complex, just stand outside on your balcony. Take a few minutes to enjoy your patio with your morning green tea and breathe in fresh air. Trust, you’ll automatically feel relaxed.

Speak Your Truth

I’m all about speaking it into existence because words are very powerful. Reading my Bible, I learned everything you say will come true. If you say something is bad, it’ll become bad. If you say you can’t do it, guess what? You will not complete that task. Words carry a STRONG energy. It’s important we take responsibility in how we speak, re-framing our minds to only see the positive and speak the positive.

Choose happiness. Choose to see the light over the dark.

Since morning routines set the tone of the day, what better way to reinforce positive vibes into your life by speaking it over yourself. Feel free to point out the obvious, tell yourself how beautiful you look straight out of bed. Remind yourself today is going to be a good day. Don’t forget to acknowledge that every negative feeling and attitude can be adjusted with a smile. 🙂

  3. I always listen to music while I’m getting ready for work. It really picks me up, along with drinking water. I have been trying to practice the whole positivity thing every morning. I do believe in the law of attraction and try to ensure that I’m staying positive. Everything happens for a reason 🙂

    Great post! One of the steps I do to boost my mornings is go for a morning walk. I love walking around my neighborhood and sipping on a cup of tea as I watch the sun come up. I always feel great aftwards and ready to start the day.
