Pumpkins, Mazes, Chocolate and an Arboretum…Autumn Adventures?

Renewal is in the air along with a few nostalgic scents such as fresh pumpkin muffins, hot hazelnut coffee and sweet caramel apple cinnamon buns. October brings in a joy for change with a drive to take on new challenges and opportunities.

As I kindly admit to you, spring and autumn are my favorite seasons, but let’s talk about fall for now 🙂 The mood. The aesthetic. The warm and cozy feeling produces relaxation. I feel so at home even when I’m not at home. I enjoy seeing pumpkin-themed everything in shops and neighborhoods. The cloudy days but sweet cool nights and warm sunshine mornings feels really nice…issa vibe and it’s a good one.

All I want to eat right now are pumpkin seeds, sweet potatoes and squash. -Autumn Vibes

I like layering my clothes, making pumpkin and sweet potato desserts, wearing anything favoring mustard and burnt-orange hues. Sitting outside and breathing in that warm-cool Texas breeze gets my creative juices flowing all day.

Watching leaves turn brilliantly from yellow-green to an auburn pigment puts me in a cozy mood, the kinda mood where you sit in your backyard and sip on lemon tea with a big bowl of butternut squash & sausage pasta while reading a PORTER magazine. Ahh…#lifeisgood

JustNatonya Autumn Goals

Butta Squash Some Social Goals

Ok did you get what I was doing with the title? Hehehe trying to stay in the autumn theme 🙂 How many blogtober posts have you read so far? I admire our fellow writers who take time to blog everyday of the month, it’s hard work but so satisfying to read.

While I’m not participating in blogtober, I’m feeling inspired to challenging myself in a different way by trying new autumn-themed activities.

Stepping out your comfort zone doesn’t have to be drastic. As long as the activity is new for you, it’s worth it.

My main focus is to explore and venture out into my community a bit, even in the smallest ways. Check out my autumn goals, it may give you ideas to do something new this season too:

Spootacular Celebration

Bake a Halloween theme cake for my mom’s birthday. One year, we bought her a cookie cake and ghost theme cupcakes. I want to surprise her with something unique this year. Better head to Pinterest! You have any Halloween theme recipes? Link them below 🙂

Pumpkin & Chocolate

Bake pumpkin and chocolate chips cookies, the two just seem like a perfect match. I mean you can’t go wrong with chocolate, am I right?

Haunted House

Last year, my sister and I did an haunted outdoor Japanese maze, it was so scary and kinda funny at the same time. I’m not big on spooky stuff but the social aspect is entertaining, so maybe this time around we’ll try a haunted house.

Halloween 40!

Can you believe the famous slasher film staring Jamie Lee Curtis came out 40 years ago?! I have the original film in my suspense movie collection, hopefully this one is just as good. My sis and I will go see this soon.

Autumn at the Arboretum

Visit the Dallas arboretum to learn more about seasonal plants and experience their Adventures in Neverland festival, which is an elaborate pumpkin village.

Corn Mazes & Hayrides

I hear navigating through corn mazes at night is most thrilling! Have you done a corn maze before? I never done a hayride before but it seems so autumny (if that’s a real word). LOL!

Apple Picking

I never picked fresh apples from a tree, just seems like the autumn thing to do. What fruits have you picked from trees?

Solo Snuggle & Read

I picked up the book, How to Be A Bawse by Lilly Singh last year and have yet found time to read the inspirational piece, seems like a cozy activity to complete real soon.

Go to a farmer’s market and buy fresh butternut squash for homemade spaghetti and soup recipes. YUM!

That’s a wrap on my new adventures! Feeling inspired by my bucket list and you wanna try some new things for yourself? Check out my list of autumn-theme activities you can do this season!

    Hello Natonya!
I love how authentic and warming your goals are for the new season. I’m amazed here in Africa it’s Spring and I wish we also had fresh apples to pick. Also, Halloween is next to unknown (so sad 😢).
    Enjoy the new season N*

I’m glad you like my goals, I was wanted to be honest with myself and show that my goals don’t have to be work-related, they can be something simple as reading a book 😊 Glad you liked my post ❤️

  3. Thanks for your little Autumn Activities list! I’ll definitely get some good ideas for Autumn with this! The children at the nursery I work at will be doing apple bobbing so I might be able to join in 😉

  5. Listen, I am definitely feeling an ‘autumny’ vibe this October! Sadly, here in The Bahamas, we don’t celebrate Autumn/Fall like others, this would be considered a regular old season… hurricane season at that! But I wished to someday go pumpkin picking, experience the cornfield maze and hayride, but more so, watch the leaves change and of course capturing some shots of them falling.

This post is bomb.com, sis! I’m loving ‘Butta Squash Some Social Goals’, lol that was hella creative!! Hahaha

I would like to sit on the beaches in Autumn/Fall of Bahamas, how cool does that sound!!! Glad you liked my cheesy line at the end lol 🙂

I feel like after this I need to get in the spirit of Fall and all the perks of it but it’s so hard dealing with lack of weather transitions but I’m going to try to incorporate the pumpkins and scary stuff into it
