Tortas, Enchiladas & Wild Salsa!

After a day of exploring sci-makeup and prosthetic techniques, our stomachs desired a big meal. As Texans, my sister Chanel, Tia, Matt and I craved one type of cuisine to secure lunch goals. I must say our Saturday adventure was rather a tasty one, disappointment never came across our faces.

Following the previous post about Eggs & Sisters Who Brunch, I needed to write about the best torta I ever tasted! Seriously, where can I find the recipe? I’ll try my best to describe this delightful sandwich so you can understand why my mouth drooled in between bites🤤.

JustNatonya Wild Salsa Restaurant Review

My stylish buddy Erica from GrandFashLife doesn’t like sandwiches😮. Can you believe that?! Be sure to check out her blog and leave a comment, she is a legit designer with incredible fashion journalism skills on red carpet beauties!

Speaking of sandwiches, what your favorite? Comment below. If you don’t like sandwiches, share why too. Let’s get food educated by one another 🙂

Chanel and I gathered our two guests together and headed to Wild Salsa for another foodie adventure in my Sisters Who Lunch series. Tia and Matt, our married coupled-duo, kindly suggested Mexican food for lunch. Since my little sis and I are always gamed to trying new dishes, we couldn’t say no.

As we walked downtown Fort Worth, TX we hit a colorful building with sweet scents of tortilla and spice. You ready?

JustNatonya Tortas, Enchiladas & Wild Salsa!

Wild Queso

Chanel is not only the potato queen but she is the queso princess. We can’t go anywhere without her ordering a cheesy dip balanced with seasoned meat. Our mouths were all dripping in extra cheesy queso blanco loaded with fresh guacamole, semi-spicy chorizo and silky sour cream for an experience your mouth will repeatedly crave over and over.

Salsa Trio with Chips

Matt opted for his own trio salsa platter focused on traditional Mexican spices. Signature Wild Salsa contained a sweet but fiery habanero with Texas noonday onion and garlic. Zesty Poblano Pecan Pesto was filled with fire-roasted poblanos, cilantro, nuts and extra virgin olive oil. The Molcajete Salsa coated our tongues with jalapenos, red onions, cilantro and fire-roasted tomatoes. All three salsas were served with lightly-salted thin crispy chips.

Sonoran Chicken Enchiladas

Chanel and Tia not only wear Batman t-shirts unplanned they also order the same dishes, they’re like twins! The two ladies endeavored into enchiladas filled with chicken tinga rolled in chili rubbed tortillas topped with arugula salad and a drizzle of agave vinaigrette on a bed of elote cream. Both claimed the small dish was high in flavor.

Beef Barbacoa Tortas

Matt and my food palates craved something sandwich-like and that’s what we had with the pulled braised beef barbacoa on buttered-crispy bolillo bread, a smear of chunky guacamole sauce with melted Monterey Jack cheese, cilantro and caramelized onions. Served with a light but peppery arugula salad and julienned-sliced radishes. Matt and I dined on what I describe as the best torta sandwich I ever eaten. Tender meat and buttery bread pumped me into recreating the recipe.

JustNatonya Wild Salsa Beef Barbacoa Torta

Our feast at Wild Salsa was met with fast service and an attentive waitress. I will definitely return to eat the Beef Barbacoa Torta, even If I’m dinning by myself. I’m pretty sure Chanel will want to eat the Wild Queso again too!

What’s a dish you ate that was so good, you felt the energy to recreate it at home?

Who doesn’t like sandwiches?! My favourites are roasted chickpea, pesto wraps with roasted peppers and lots of kale. That was probably way too specific. I love Mexican food and this all looks amazing! x

Sometimes, you gotta treat yo self with lots of food! Ok, maybe not sometimes but once in a while. WIld Salsa sounds like an interesting restaurant. I am not really a sandwich person but I am a total sucker for sourdough breads. Oh man, cheese dips sound delicious. The enchiladas look on point!!! You really treated yourself out there. Glad you enjoyed the food!

That sandwich looks and sounds delicious! Also, that trio salsa platter sounds amazing – that is something myself and my boyfriend would looove. Is it bad if I also say I’m not the hugest fan of sandwiches? Haha. Don’t get me wrong, I do like them, but if I had the chance – I would choose something else. I really enjoy having pasta or something for lunch instead. Rolls are super tasty and one of my favourite, but I would still prefer pasta or something instead!

  7. tender meat and buttery bread? sign me up!!!! sounds like you had a wonderful lunch adventure! I’m a big fan of mac & cheese and just last weekend my brother went to a place in brooklyn that served me probably the best mac & cheese i’ve ever had. Wish I was able to bring it home but since I live over an hour away from brooklyn by train I had to leave it…didn’t stop me from stuffing as much as i physically could into my stomach though! loved this post xxx
