AFFORDABLE SKINCARE
We all want glowy, juicy-youthful and healthy skin but at what cost? I’ve seen top-line moisturizers, masks, spot treatments and serums all over $50, which is quite pricey for the average gal. Ok, we all know you get what you pay for and sometimes you need to pay a little bit more to get the best but that doesn’t mean you need to spend a chunk of your paycheck on skincare right?
Earlier this year, Target debuted VERSED Skincare. I first saw the new line in Target at the end of the beauty isle and was quite intrigued. I really liked the packaging, simple and straight forward but that wasn’t enough for me to the buy the products, I needed to learn more about the brand. Because it’s fairly new, I didn’t see many reviews but after hefty research of the website, I was quite impressed.
VERSED prides themselves as vegan and cruelty-free minus all the yucky ingredients your skin hates such as artificial fragrance, parabens, sulfates, silicones, BHA, talc, chemical sunscreen and the list goes on, just read more here. The company works to cater to your skin’s needs and formulates clean products aim to heal your skin all under $20! Yup, even the items some brands charge an arm and leg for such as eye creams, serums, acne solutions, balms and moisturizers are all under $20.
Not sure where to start, I used the personalized skin decoder to help me find the best solution for my needs. After answering a series of questions, I was convinced in buying two specific products. This post is NOT sponsored by any means, I’m just here sharing my experience. However, it has affiliate links to the products where I receive a small commission from each purchase.
VERSED Clarity Purifying Mask
After a day of frolicking on the beach, oily hair flying in your face and sweating from the sun, it’s time for a deep cleanse. What I like most about VERSED Clarity Purifying Mask is the non-drying effect it has on my sensitive skin. The mask is filled with white charcoal, kaolin and bentonite clay, which all actively pull out the impurities from the skin. Sometimes masks containing charcoal and clay ingredients leave my face feeling over-dried and tight. With this VERSED charcoal mask my face feels soft, smooth and clean. Trust me it’s great on super sensitive skin, no irritation!
I will say with first time use, this mask purges the skin. It may appear the the mask is causing breakouts but it’s actually bringing out what’s been lying underneath the skin. After the first couple of uses, the purifying mask actually dries up the pimples and continues to heal acne while removing the day’s toxins and my left-over foundation.
Benefits from VERSED Clarity Purifying Mask
- Little goes a long way
- Smoothing application and doesn’t dry too hard leaving flakes
- Dries out pimples
- Helps clean up acne
- Deeply removes makeup & impurities
- Gentle on sensitive & acne prone skin
- Removes excess oil
- See results are third or fourth use
VERSED Dew Point Moisturizing Gel-Cream
Packed with aloe leaf juice, green tea extract and jojoba oil, this jelly-like moisturizer leaves your skin feeling hydrating to the touch. VERSED Dew Point Moisturizing Gel-Cream is absolutely wonderful in summer weather. My skin is never left feeling greasy or oily. I’m left with a dewy tone as if I’ve been kissed by the sun, creating a flattering highlight.
I’m definitely adding this product to my summer beauty essentials collection for sensitive skin. If you wear makeup, this cream sits nicely under foundation. Forget about worrying if your makeup will slide because this moisturizer absorbs easily and quickly into the skin. I wait about 10 minutes to apply translucent powder and then the MAC powder foundation. My face is left feeling hydrated but never oily. Although this gel-moisturizer is suitable for day and night, I prefer it for the day and use something heavier at night.
Benefits from VERSED Dew Point Moisturizing Gel-Cream
- Non-sticky
- Light-weight
- Creamy consistency, little goes a long way
- Absorbs instantly
- Non-drying
- Great in the summer
- Perfect under foundation, kinda works like a primer
- Leaves skin dewy but not oily
- Suitable for sensitive & acne prone skin
Overall, I would definitely purchase the mask and moisturizer again because the products last a long time, super affordable and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I saw a healthy difference on my face. My acne is continuing to clear up and my face is way less oily. It’s pretty awesome I’m able to buy clean beauty products without breaking the bank. Next, I want to try their cleansing balm and complexion solution, be on the lookout for a future review!

Thanks for sharing your review. I like the packaging for the products it gives it an expensive look, but they are all under $20 and affordable. As someone with sensitive and loves animals, I’m very picky about the products I use. So seeing that these products are vegan and cruelty-free is a plus. I’ll have to check this out for myself next time I’m in Target. I’m especially interested in the VERSED Clarity Purifying Mask, I don’t use masks because they dry out my skin. Hopefully, their VERSED Clarity Purifying Mask won’t, and I can do face mask for my self-care Sundays.

I love own-brand skincare; currently my favourites are the Tesco Micellar water and day moisturiser.
I often find that it’s the store brands that are cruelty free (as well as affordable) compared to most of the big name brands!

So true! I purchased tons of store products that work just as good, if not better than most name brands👏🏾

Being in the UK, I’ve not seen this line but it sounds great. I have super sensitive skin too and budget products always make me a little more nervous but their free from list sounds so good. Glad you got on with the products x

I am definitely the same way. I do not like buying products with a budget price because I feel like they lack in ingredients. I was so pleased that this line did not feature harmful ingredients to the skin at an affordable price. Hopefully you can buy the products on their website. Thanks for reading Sophie!❤️👏🏾
