My Secret to Never Running Out of Blogging Content

BLOGGING CONTENT TIPS

Teachers, writers, designers, content creators, parents, entrepreneurs, athletes, nurses, influencers, executives, musicians, children, students, artists or just everyday people are all born with the concept of perspective. No matter the job title or position and not even your financial status, we all have our unique viewpoints on life. With our eyes being the best camera lens to own, we visualize and live life differently, which makes us ALL special. Why is this profound? No two angles are the same.

The Value of Perspective

Although some outlooks on life are similar, which makes a person relatable to others, every interpretation is different. People could discuss the same topic over and over and you’ll definitely learn something new. Here is an example, three chefs are hired to make spaghetti with meatballs and all are given the main ingredients such as sauce, noodles and beef.

While all chefs are using the main ingredients, trust that each person will add something different to identify the dish as their own. Whether it’s extra mozzarella cheese, oregano, no salt or Italian seasoning, each individual’s interpretation isn’t wrong. Knowing how to spin things as your own and adding that special something where people can tell it’s you is the concept I have with my blog.

Never compare your journey to others because it’ll NEVER look the exact same.

We all have unique journeys and come from different walks of life, which makes us excellent story tellers. Knowing that my story is worth sharing is the key point to most of my blog post topics. I used to blog about what was considered popular topics to seem relevant in the blogging community until I realized I wasn’t enjoying my own content.

My Secret to Never Running Out of Blogging Content- JustNatonya

Share Your Personal Experiences as Blog Posts

I learned that when you blog about personal experiences, it instantly becomes relatable. You may reach 10k people or one person with your topic but no matter what you write, it will resonate with someone because your story is an outlook on how you view life, which is naturally interesting to others.

Your topics don’t have to expose dark secrets to be relatable but something as simple as how you shop for jeans that flatter your body type is enough. How? Although there are thousands of posts on how to shop for jeans, you may be the first person to write about shopping for black denim as a 5’11 curvy woman. We all have valuable opinions on the same topic, so it’s naturally appealing to read vs throwing in the general facts.

The smallest things you do might be the most interesting to others.

If you write the jeans post from the general standpoint of telling your reader to buy jeans that fit his/her body type, with stretchy material and high back pockets; while those tips are beneficial, it’s something that’s not particularly personal, which makes it less interesting. If you write from your own experience, it makes finding content super easy because you just draw from the things you do in your daily life.

How to NEVER Run Out of Blog Topics Regardless of Your Niche

How to Never Run Out of Blog Content

My secret to discovering interesting topics is to write about myself. I don’t necessarily blog about me in a narcissist way but I use my experiences as the backdrop for blog content. I’ve written 130+ blog posts in less than two years and my most popular articles are the ones I used based off my personal encounters.

For instance, this post I wrote about cheap ways to get Beyonce’s snatched waist continues to bring me an endless amount of views on Pinterest. Actually if you type: how to get a snatched waist like Beyonce on Google, my post pops up first.  The way I discovered this idea consisted of me literally scrolling through her Instagram and realized she used certain style pieces to highlight her waist. I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be fun to let everyone know I found a way to use your clothes as a functional element to show off your curves like Beyonce? I took what was a casual moment in my day and made it into a blog post. I added my personal element of finding inexpensive clothes to get the look because I’m all about saving money.

Anytime you come across an interesting idea or you discover something new, write it down so you don’t forget.

I tailor my experiences in a way that not only entertains but helps and inform others to learn more about themselves by implementing my learned lessons into their lives. Another example of a recent popular post is when I shared 5 things I should carry in my handbagSomething simple as needing a safety pin for my lose top in public taught me to stay prepared. What seemed like a simple lesson for me and not necessarily a trending topic, easily resonated with others.

How to Write About Trending Topics on Your Blog

Now if you do want to write about popular topics on your blog, don’t be afraid to add your opinion. One recent post I shared was my opinion on how whether or not blogging is dead. I wanted to express how I genuinely believe blogging isn’t ending but getting bigger.

Honestly, I was nervous to share this post because I wasn’t sure if it made sense to others. But as I made this popular topic my own and added my sincere opinions, it has a ton of views and I’m still returning comments on this particular topic. Just take what you learn from others and express what it means to you. Don’t focus on sounding professional or even political, just be kind and fearful in expressing your thoughts.

How to NEVER Run Out of Blog Topics Regardless of Your Niche- JustNatonya

The key point I want you to take with you is to write about yourself. Share your personal experiences as blog content because your perspective is naturally interesting. Forget trying to write like everyone else, share what’s happening in your life and what’s special to you. Even if you want to blog about trying almond milk for the first time, what may seem small to you might be the biggest lesson for someone else.

What do you think about my method of never running out of blogging content? How do you find blog topics?

You totally nailed it with this one Natonya. As you said, writing from your own perspective, finding your own voice, is the way to create unique angles and articles people will keep returning to. I have always found a bit strange how some blogger fellows seem to be reluctant to share their personality on their posts. To me, that’s just a big no-no: readers can’t empathise with your content unless they feel the person behind it. Maybe it’s just because I have been reading blogs from the beginning of the whole thing (sometimes, I feel like a dinosaur in blogging terms), but being authentic is such a basic rule. I can’t understand how people keep forgetting about it. I am glad you don’t.

Im so happy you understood exactly where I was going with this post Allegra!👏🏾 Yes we must use our OWN voice to differentiate ourselves in the blogging world. No one wants to keep Reading the same content over and over, so why not use your own voice right?! Sharing personal stories really works in this area because you’re relaxed in conversation. I think people shy away because they have the impression to tell dark secrets. Personal stories would be simple as visiting a farmer’s market for the first time. I’m really happy you liked this post! You’re a great example of using your voice. I instantly know you’re writing style before but even seeing your name👌🏾❤️😁👏🏾

These are such great points, Natonya! It’s so true, no two peoples opinions are exactly the same and we can always find our own unique way of expressing ourselves. Like you say, sharing your own tips, suggestions and experiences can really resonate with others. I know I always take away something inspirational or motivational when I read your posts!! ❤ xx

I love this! It’s so true that no one thinks the same way as you, even if you have generally similar views, how you got there likely came from a different thought process. It’s great that you share your own voice like that! Brainstorming new recipe ideas isn’t always easy though 😂 x

Exactly, everyone has a different thought process! Hmmm I never thought about this concept from generating recipe ideas🤔 but I guess if you’re featuring meals you truly eat, it’s naturally interesting 😁

Yes 100%! No matter what our job title or position is we all have unique viewpoints on life. I really like your analogy of spaghetti and meatballs, although the main components are the same there are is always something special that each chef adds to the dish that makes it’s their dish. One thing I definitely need to get better at is not comparing my journey to others, I have my own path and as much as I see people doing things that I’d love to do, it’s really important to remember that your journey is your journey and everything that is meant to happen will happen.

I had a similar type of experience with blogging, I used to blog with a friend of mine and most of my ideas would get shut down for more popular and favorable topics, in the end I continued blogging and even though I don’t have a niche per se my blog is honestly my favorite thing ever, from history crash courses to fitness, it’s really fun just writing whatever I enjoy writing about not really paying attention to what other bloggers are doing.

If I’m not writing about crash courses and fitness, my favorite to write are my lifestyle reflections as I share what I’ve either learned or what I’ve come to realize – I always write with ‘how will this help someone’ in mind.

Personally, I don’t think I’ve ever run out of blogging content mainly because I get inspiration from the randomest things day to day! I do have my weeks where I don’t have an idea I’m 100% solid on an idea and on those weeks I take a step back and make sure I flesh out my ideas completely!

Ah your comment made me smile, this is exactly the point I was making within the post!😍 Blogging at it’s finest is best done when you do your own thing and NOT follow the crowd. It’s tempting to write on popular topics but most of the time it gets lost or sounds redundant. I think our experiences are more special, even if it’s something simple as trying a macaron for the first time. I’m happy you found your way through the community and you blog about what means the most to you💕👏🏾

  9. I’m starting to try and link my blog topics into things that are going on in the month (awareness days etc) especially when I have some personal experience that ties in – or it’s just health and fitness linked. So when I’m planning my content titles for the month I do a quick google of what’s happening in the month first.
I also have lots of random scraps of paper and notes on my phone of topics/titles that pop into my head – very often that are inspired by something I hear on a podcast or that comes to mind while walking, or that I read in a magazine. I’ve bought a super tiny notebook for it but haven’t yet popped it into my handbag.
I find it tends to be titles/topics that come to me and then when I research sometimes they divide into more topics.
I like having the series I do on the blog too – with monthly challenges and monthly superfoods.

      1. I learn so much from researching and writing them to be honest! It also helps guide me in recipe development so I don’t run out of ideas there.

This is great. I love the part of not comparing your journey to others and sharing your own personal experiences. We all have our own stories to tell and that what makes us unique. I enjoy reading blog posts from someone who has a different perspective than mine. I walk away learning something new and interested in trying something I may never have considered. Love that you chose this topic and I think a lot of newbie bloggers can benefit from reading this. Thanks for sharing.

I’m so glad this made sense because when I was free-writing and then editing a couple of days later, I was concerned if the concept would flow through. I feel like we learn so much from the experiences of others, it makes us more well-rounded individuals. Thanks for the lovely comment ❤️

I love this! This is exactly the argument I have when people say that blogging is over-saturated. Blogging isn’t over-saturated in the same way that authors aren’t, because, can you really have too many or too much amazing content/entertainment? I don’t think so! You’re so right about the personal giving blog posts a unique twist too!
