FIRST MEAL OF THE DAY
Are you someone on-the-go who practically consumes their morning beverage and breakfast in the car? #relatable right? On those days I’m in a hurry, I find myself eating in the car. Granted I’m not driving and eating because safety comes before a tasty bite but pulling over in an empty parking space feels quite convenient to eat breakfast while prepping my day to run important errands.
Most mornings I’m not hungry and I function fine up until lunchtime but on those days I eat a light dinner the night before, it’s crucial I have breakfast the next morning, otherwise I’m too distracted and less focused on getting stuff done.
I’m learning the foundation to being productive in your career or anything you set out to do starts internally. Getting the proper nourishment makes a whole difference in how you operate throughout the day. When I’m on-the-go, I opt for these semi-healthy fast food breakfasts.
Chick-fil-A: Chicken, Egg & Cheese Bagel
Who would have thought chicken and eggs make a great combination for breakfast? At first I was apprehensive trying it but my goal is to break ordinary habits by always trying something new. Verdict is in, I could totally eat chicken and eggs together more often. I like to add a little honey on my instead of ketchup for that southern classic flavor.
This morning sandwich consists of a toasted sunflower multi-grain bagel filled with boneless chicken breast, one folded egg and American cheese. Personally, I’m not a fan of American cheese so I would swap it for pepper jack or Colby jack cheese. Easily cupped in my hand, this goodie keeps me full all morning with the protein from the chicken and egg.
Starbucks: Spinach, Feta & Cage-Free Egg White Wrap
When my sister first introduced this wrap to me, I did NOT like the flavor, which is totally mind-blowing because I’m a huge fan of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. But like anything in life, sometimes you must try it a second or third time. On the third try, the flavor began to grow on me and now it’s a easy go-to for breakfast.
A warmed whole wheat wrap filled with egg whites, tomatoes, spinach and feta cheese has enough protein to help me jump start my day.
Panera Bread: Spinach & Artichoke Souffle
Eating eggs for breakfast is probably one of my favorite foods to have in the mornings. Whether it’s scrambled, baked, fried, poached, boiled or over-easy, eggs always leave me full and satisfied. So when I discovered the egg souffle dish at Panera Bread, it instantly became number one in my go-to collection for fast food breakfasts.
If you’re into spinach artichoke dip, then this is the meal for you. Eggs baked in a crispy pastry puff filled with spinach and artichoke hearts. It’s extremely tasty and leaves me full for hours. Seriously, I could eat this everyday. I’m going to need to find the recipe asap because this souffle sells out too fast during the week!
Yes, fast food in general isn’t too healthy for you, which is why I try to avoid it as much as possible. Sometimes you’re in a hurry and need a quick meal to take you from hangry to happy. Hopefully these options from my list give you a semi healthy choice?
