WHITE FASHIONABLE DRESSES
As we store away winter’s oversized puffy jackets, fluffy teddy bear coats and the wool boyfriend trench, it’s time to show skin again. Picnic season is on the arrival along with outdoor strolls in the park and afternoon beach dates. Open your closet and pull out the asymmetrical hems, ruffle details, crochet fabrics, sheer materials and pastel floral prints. Spring is blowing down our doors with fresh cut blooms and easy breezy weather.
If you’re interested in wearing something bright and refreshing, you must pick up a white dress on your next shopping trip. Whether it’s a casual midi t-shirt dress or an off-the-shoulder bridesmaids dress, white dresses are a lovely selection for spring outfits. Easy and diverse, white dresses are perfect for a wide array of spring occasions such as Easter, wedding ceremonies, beach dates and errand running. Plus, this spring trend is highly flattering on all body types! Yes, even for the voluptuous and bodacious women. Keep reading to find out which white dress styles curvy and plus size women must shop to flatter their figure.
Easy Flattering White Dress Trends for Curvy Women
Curves come in various shapes and sizes. A size 8 person could be curvy just as much as a size 22 individual. It’s not about the weight of your body it’s about the shape and the lines that your silhouette forms in your clothes. Women who are naturally curvy benefit from certain garments that showcase their figure.
We want to avoid pieces that hide our frames or make us look boxy. The idea of curves is to essentially show them off but that can be quite hard to do so with white dresses. Sometimes people don’t like wearing white clothes not only to avoid stains but for fear of showing what is considered by the media imperfections such as cellulite or body rolls.
Honestly, the women’s body is most beautiful when those natural features are embraced rather than hidden but for comfort level, I will reveal a few type of spring dresses curvy women can choose to flaunt their curves.

Dramatic Sleeves Are Never Too Much
No matter the style of puffy, bell, bishop, balloon or butterfly, they’re all flattering on curvy women. When you pair bold sleeves with a white dress, it balances the whole figure by making everything more proportional to even out the upper and lower body. On the plus side, if you’re not a fan of showing your arms, bold sleeves are very slimming.

Lace, Lace and Oh Yeah, Lace!
What I like most about lace dresses is the added touch of effortless elegance and subtle sexiness. Lace transitions easily into daytime and nighttime fashion. Ladies don’t be afraid to wear lace, the sheerness is an illusion. The cool thing about lace dresses is the underlay, which behaves like shapewear. Lace will never fail any woman, the material literally looks good on all body types.

Snatched by the Vintage Corset
When I say, “an outfit that makes your waist snatched like Beyonce“, this is what we mean! Women in the 1500s had the right idea about wearing an undergarment to snatch the waist. Corsets were used to pull in the tummy and pop the hips to achieve the highly favored hourglass frame. Today, the undergarment piece doesn’t skip a beat in the fashion department. Women aren’t hiding corsets as their secret shapewear, instead it’s flaunted as a couture element to high fashion. If you’re curvy or plus size vintage corset dresses are a lovely and fashionable way to show off your body type!

Shirring Waistline
If you’re not a fan of the corset bodice dress because it’s a bit bold for you, opt for something more innocent and subtle to still showoff your waist. Similar to the empire waist, shirring dresses are designed to easily pop out the hips and pull in the upper tummy. Shirring concept is perfect for curvy and plus size women because it tapers in the waist to highlight the curves.Ā

Wrap it Around the Waist
Skip the empire waist and opt for a wrap dress. Wrap dresses are an absolute guarantee for curves.Ā This two-in-one style incorporates a curvy voluptuous woman’s best accessory, the belt. Belts are known to pull in the waist but what makes wrap dresses phenomenally convenient because it’s already attached. This built-in accessory makes getting dressed easier and faster.Ā

High-Split is Legit
One of the stylish ways to show skin in the summer is by wearing high-slit cut dresses. Cut in the right place, a high-split is a subtle way to draw attention to your legs. No matter the height, shape or size of a woman, a high-split dress is attractive. Curvy and voluptuously-shaped women look for high-split dresses that cut in the front or outer part of your thigh, it’s incredibly flattering as it shapes the curviness in your legs.

Plain as Silk, Gentle as Satin
Silk dresses for women are naturally slimming and unintentionally sultry. It’s just one of those minimal pieces every woman should own in her closet. I believe silk dresses are flattering on curves because they kindly drape along the body to gracefully follow the natural lines. Ultimately, you don’t have to do anything on your part, the dress basically does all the work. This garment is an elegant piece that translates well into daytime and nighttime outfits too.

Tiered Layers for Dimension
If skin-tight clothing isn’t your thing but you want to wear something that doesn’t make you look bulky, search for tiered dresses. I tiered layering in dresses because it adds dimension. Dimension is great in fashion because it plays with the eye. Instead of focusing on the body, you eye naturally follows the shaping of the dress. This concept is great for women who want to look fashionable but hide the shape of their hips and booty without wearing boring clothing.

Ruched it Up!
Two of my favorite things about ruched dresses are the strategic detailing and the simple way it loosens tight dresses. While the bodycon and mermaid shape is super intriguing on curvy women, sometimes it’s not the most comfortable. If you’re one who likes tight clothing but need the comfort appeal, ruched dresses are the way to go. The semi-draping of the fabric lends itself to alleviating that “skin-tight” appeal.Ā Plus it has instant gratification to balance if you want to hide certain parts you’re not comfortable showing such as cellulite on thighs or a muffin top. It’s a nice blend of functionality without sacrificing style.

As a curvy woman, I used to hesitate in wearing white because I thought it would show EVER LITTLE THING such as my rolls and cellulite. After receiving the best fashion and body positive advice from my Mother, my whole perspective changed. My mother reminded me that white flatters the body just as much as black, you just need to know which style flatters you. Moms always know best right? So now I know, I don’t have to limit myself in the color department when it comes to clothes, I just need to find the best ways to flaunt my shape. When it comes to curves, one favorable tip is to highlight the waist. Once you highlight your waist, everything for your OOTD tends to work out.
What’s your go-to spring outfit? Do you avoid wearing white? How do you feel about the white dress trend?
